What Medida collects, why, and how to get it back or removed.
This page describes what the system actually does, written from our internal data register rather than from a template. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified adviser, and nothing here is a legal conclusion. If something matters to you, write and ask.
Who this is
Medida is a one-person custom software consultancy run by David Tabacman. Anything on this page can be asked about, or acted on, by writing to davidtabacman@gmail.com.
The consultation form
If you send an enquiry, we keep your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message. We use them to reply to you and to discuss a possible project, and for nothing else. They are never added to a marketing list, never sold, and never shared with anyone for their own purposes. The form writes directly to our database, which is Google Cloud Firestore.
How you arrived
If you reach the site from a tagged link — a campaign, or a post — we record which campaign or post it was, the website you came from (only its address, never the page), and which page of ours you landed on. This is kept in your browser for the length of your visit and attached to an enquiry only if you send one. It is not a cookie, it identifies nobody, and it is gone when you close the tab.
We read comments and mentions on our own Instagram account, together with the public username that wrote them. We read our own posts and their statistics. That is all: we read no direct messages, and the connection cannot post, reply, hide, delete or send anything — there is no such function in the software, which is checked automatically every time it is built.
What we do not do
There are no cookies on this site. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers, and no profiling. Our fonts are served from this site rather than fetched from Google. Your browser stores two things for you: your display preferences, and how you arrived on this visit. Neither leaves your device unless you send an enquiry.
Where it is held, and who else touches it
Our database is hosted by Google in the United States, which was fixed when the project was created and cannot be changed in place. Google is therefore a processor for everything we store. Anthropic processes text for internal drafting, and contact details are removed before anything is sent — a check runs first and stops the process if anything got through. Meta is a source of Instagram data rather than a processor: we receive from them and send them nothing about you.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry while it is live and review it after twenty-four months, because a proposal from eighteen months ago is something we may legitimately need to find. Instagram comments are reviewed after twelve months, sooner because nobody asked to be recorded. These are our own defaults, not a legal determination, and reviewing means a person looks and decides rather than an automatic deletion.
Seeing or removing what we hold
Write to davidtabacman@gmail.com and ask. We will tell you what we have and remove it if you want it removed. Being straightforward: removal is something a person does by hand, not an automated process, so allow a few days. If you ask through Instagram or Meta instead, the request reaches us with a confirmation code and is handled the same way.
